About the Role
This position is a full-time role with a specialized focus on ICD 705, SCIF, and SAPF construction. The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and successful execution of projects, ensuring compliance with security standards and client requirements. This includes close collaboration with the Architecture and Engineering (A&E) team and the client to facilitate seamless project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong logistical coordination skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a demonstrated history of successfully managing complex construction projects. Key responsibilities include overseeing subcontractors, interpreting, and enforcing contract terms and conditions, reviewing shop drawings, managing submittals, and drafting Requests for Information (RFIs). The role also requires expertise in budget management, schedule oversight, risk mitigation, and ensuring adherence to government regulations and industry best practices. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential to maintain project efficiency and client satisfaction.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Create and manage project budget
Develop pre-construction RFP package
Develop master project schedule
Lead weekly OAC project meetings, set milestones and formulate monthly owners report
Establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, and pay applications) including approving pay applications and negotiating subcontract change orders
Oversee field safety observations/audits and assessments of safety protocols, practices, and conditions at various job sites or field locations.
Manage the closeout process
Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life of the project
Communication: Communicate regularly with all project stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project team members. Maintaining open lines of communication to address issues and resolve conflicts.
Risk Management: Identify project risks, such as schedule delays, budget overruns, and safety hazards. Developing contingency plans and implementing corrective actions to address unforeseen challenges and formulate solutions to address the issues.
Leadership
Collaborates closely with the SPG Team to drive strategic initiatives, align organizational goals, and foster a culture of excellence across every project.
Manage field staff with the goal of completing the project on time and on budget.
Establishes and maintains relationships with project key stakeholders.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship: Due to the nature of this position and the requirement for access to classified or sensitive information, candidates must be U.S. citizens as defined by federal law.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial construction.
Experience with Architectural Drawings/As-Builds/Schematics.
Knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials.
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office suites.
Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience in various aspects of physical construction across diverse projects and environments.
Excellent verbal articulation and written communication skills.
Able to work professionally and independently to drive initiatives forward and develop focused solutions.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Able to climb ladders and perform tasks at elevated heights.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed for job-related assignments.
Ability to walk, stand, and sit during working hours.
This position requires compliance with all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all employees. Candidates must be willing and able to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots, as required for the job duties and work environment.
